Zhengzhou-Europe International Block Train Runs with Eight Departures and Seven Arrivals Per Week as Scheduled

At 18:40 p.m. of November 1, 2017, Train X8203 carrying 1,642 tons of cargo of Zhengzhou-Europe International Block Train departs from Zhengzhou to Hamburg, Germany. According to Zhengzhou Railway Bureau, Zhengzhou-Europe International Block Train will run with eight departures and seven arrivals per week as of this month.

The first train of Zhengzhou-Europe International Block Train departed from Zhengzhou on July 18, 2013, and at that time, there were only one departure and one arrival per month. Earlier this year, the numbers were increased to four departures and four arrivals, and then to seven departures and seven arrivals this August and to current eight departures and seven arrivals. The number of running train is planned to reach 500 this year, with more than 1,500 km of goods collection radius and over 300 enterprises served.

President Xi noted in his report at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that, we should pursue the Belt and Road Initiative as a priority and follow the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration, in the hope to make new ground in opening China further through links running eastward and westward, across land and over sea. An official in charge of cargo affairs at Putian Station of Zhengzhou Railway Bureau mentioned Zhengzhou-Europe International Block Train has developed from one trip a month to one trip a day, from 80 km/h to 120 km/h, and from 500km of goods collection radius to 1,500 km of goods collection radius. A total of 1,300 odd kinds of goods are now transported from Zhengzhou to Europe, covering high-grade clothing, textiles, auto spares, electronic products, engineering machinery, medical apparatus and instruments, aircraft manufacturing materials, liquor, tobacco, etc.
