Take the "Zhengzhou Metro" to Enjoy Spring

"The next station is Zhengzhou East Railway Station."

Do you remember the familiar station broadcast performed in a sketch on the Spring Festival Gala? It was such performance that brought the elements of Zhengzhou to the general public.

As an important hub in the middle part of China, there are more and more metro lines in Zhengzhou which are "blessings of the city", the same as what the sketch mainly expressed.

While Zhengzhou Metro, as an achievement of urban development, it is more like "trains leading Zhengzhou people to a better life".

Since Line 1 opened to the public in 2013, Zhengzhou Metro has interconnected the main urban area into a transportation network within a short period of seven years.

It extends to Jiahe River in the north and Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport in the south, and runs through the whole main urban area from Xushui to Longzi Lake.

Now, let's abandon the original stereotype of the congested "Zijing Mountain" and "Erqi Square", and have a better understanding of the station names in Zhengzhou Metro.

The station names we hear about everyday but with no particular attention paid, are worthy of being discussed.

As one of the eight ancient capitals, Zhengzhou is undoubtedly interconnected with "history". Many metro stations are named after the historical relics of Zhengzhou.

As one of the few ancient architecture groups in Zhengzhou, "Confucian Temple" is definitely a place with significant historical atmosphere. A bright red brick wall stands under the blue sky, which embodies the unique historic majesty.

The "Phoenix Pavilion Station" involuntarily reminds people of the famous line "Phoenixes fly wondrously around the Phoenix Pavilion". As a historical tourist attraction in Zhengzhou, it has been cited by poets and writers for hundreds of years, while what is left now is just the original historical relic.

Besides, the stations named after the " Western Zhou Dynasty" and the " Eastern Zhou Dynasty" in the old urban area of Zhengzhou, Guancheng District, remind people of the importance of Zhengzhou in the Western Zhou Dynasty.

Despite the congested skyscrapers around the "Shangding Road Station" in the Eastern Area, historical and cultural atmosphere still exists.

When calculating the number of metro stations named after the Yellow River in Zhengzhou, the deep love of the local citizens to the River is self-evident.

The most iconic of them is the "Huanghe Road Station", and the surrounding shopping malls are really eye-catching!

The busy "Jinshui East Road Station", and Kailin, which truly embodies the hustle and bustle of the city, is also the political and cultural center of Zhengzhou.

The "Haitan Temple Station", getting popular via the Haitan Street, is inseparably interconnected with the Yellow River.

Beyond that, there are also plenty of metro stations being named after rivers and lakes.

The most expensive district section is from the "Dragon Lake North Station" to the "Dragon Lake Middle Ring South Station", which is a dream beyond reach, but also the goal of numerous people.

The counterpart is the "Qili River Station", which is of unique geographical advantages.

The area in the West 4th Ring intersected by the "Xiliu Lake Station" is also the ideal residence for office workers who have been working in Zhengzhou for many years.

Students in Zhengzhou must be quite familiar with the "Longzi Lake Station", because the station broadcast always inspires their desire for a bright prospect.

As is known to all, Zhengzhou Metro can hardly detour around hospitals, especially the loop line of Line 5, along which there are Zhengzhou People's Hospital, Provincial People's Hospital, Zhengzhou Second People's Hospital, Children's Hospital Station, Provincial Orthopedic Hospital Station and Municipal Central Hospital Station.

It is even joked by netizens as the real Line 1 or Medical Line ( Medical is pronounced the same as the number 1 in Chinese Pinyin)!

In fact, there are still countless parks along Zhengzhou Metro apart from hospitals, such as Yueji Park, May Day Park, Bisha Hill, Lvcheng Square and People's Park along Line 5 and Lanhe Park along the Chengjiao Line.

The "Lvcheng Square", which gets popular across Zhengzhou for its marriage interview corner, is undoubtedly the most favorite destination of elder parents.

"Bisha Hill Station" leads to Bisha Hill Park, which is one of the most popular parks in Zhengzhou and the sacred place for residents living in the western suburb.

Due to the metro, "People's Park" is not far away, and has become not only the most popular park among the youth, but the amusement park for the retired.

As the emerging power of Zhengzhou Metro, Line 4 is worthy of compliment for its wide use of high-tech.

Famed as the "special line of music", the design of Line 4 adopts high-tech endlessly.

High-tech and the marks on bronze tripods are visible everywhere, perfectly combining the ever-changing scientific and technological elements with the history and culture of the capital of Shang Dynasty.

From "Laoyachen" in the north, to "Lang Village" in the south, Line 4 runs through the North 3rd Ring, passing by the North Dragon Lake and CBD, and ending in the "Lang Village" along Zhongzhou Avenue. It is undoubtedly the most "expensive" metro line in Zhengzhou.

It saves plenty of commuting time for workers, thus becoming an important link between the north and the south.

Another feature of the station names is that quite a few of them are named after schools.

The "Henan University of Technology Station" and "Henan University New Campus Station" remind many people of their college life.

The line extends from the "Tsinghua University High School Station" in the north of the university town to the "Shuanghu Avenue Station" in the south of the university town, signifying the education strength of Zhengzhou.

When people pass by cities in southern China, they are always attracted by the appealing metro station names, behind which there must be nice stories.

As time goes by, people are also more familiar with Zhengzhou Metro. The station names without unique significance are also of precious cultural value.

Few metro systems in other cities know more about the meaning of "spur with long accumulation" as Zhengzhou Metro does.

When you enjoy the convenience and leisure time in the fast-speed subway, the city is also surging up.

People from all walks of life are met  in different stations every morning and dusk. However, one thing is common for them, and that is, the station broadcast "The next station is Zhengzhou East Station" means arriving at home.

A metro station name not only carries a specific historical period, an ancient architecture, but also the life and emotions of everyone living in the city.
