Today, the 13th National Dance Exhibition, sponsored by Ministry of Culture and Tourism and People's Government of Guangdong, and organized by Department of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Guangzhou Culture, Radio and TV, Press and Publication Bureau, kicked off in Guangzhou.

A total of 860 dance works from all over the country were received, and after careful selection by experts, 88 dramas (programs) were finally approved to participate in the exhibition. The group dance "Palace Banquet in Tang Dynasty", created by Chen Lin, choreographer of Zhengzhou Song and Dance Theatre, and performed by the dance team of the Theatre, will be presented at Guangdong Friendship Theatre from October 26 to 27.

The dance was nominated for the 12th Chinese Dance "Lotus Award" Classical Dance Awards in October 2020. During the Spring Festival this year, after the "Palace Banquet in Tang Dynasty" went viral, Zhengzhou Song and Dance Theater seized the opportunity to actively expand the influence of the cultural brand in order to promote Chinese historical and traditional culture and expand Zhengzhou's influence. It has made contributions to the construction and development of Zhengzhou as a national center city.

The predecessor of the "National Dance Exhibition" is the "National Dance Competition", which was founded in 1980. Over the past 40 years, the National Dance Competition and the National Dance Exhibition have introduced a large number of outstanding dance works, discovered and cultivated a large number of creative and performing talents. It played an important role in improving the dance creation and performance in China, as well as promoting the prosperity of dance art in China. According to Sun Shujie, Director of Zhengzhou Song and Dance Theatre, in recent years, the Theatre, with the strong support of CPC Zhengzhou Municipal Committee, Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, and leaders at all levels, has always insisted on putting social benefits in the first place and serving the people with quality artworks. It has cultivated a group of young and talented artistic creators while doing a good job in creating and performing dramas.
