Commemorative Photograph Exhibition Kicks Off in Henan Art Center

In order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, on the morning of yesterday, “The 14th Henan Provincial Art Photograph Exhibition for Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War” was launched in the Art Pavilion of Henan Art Center. The exhibition is organized by Henan Provincial Department of Culture and undertaken by Provincial Mass Art Center and Provincial Art Photographer Association.
     Henan provincial art photograph exhibition, having been successfully held for 13 times, displayed almost tens of thousands exhibits and exerted an extensive influence. With the theme of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, this photograph exhibition was aimed at reminding people to remember the history 70 years ago following the trails recorded by photographers.
     This photograph exhibition exhibited over 300 excellent works, including over 100 anti-war theme works like Red Memory by Kong Lingchen and Veteran by Gao Hui, as well as over 200 outstanding works depicting history, folk custom and the nature, such as I am a soilder by Yang Zhijun, Shining Youth by Qu Gong. Meanwhile, Zhang Guotong, together with his work Can Not Forget the History, was invited to participate in the exhibition. These works not only record the vicissitudes of history, but reveal a dynamic natural world. More than a carrier of the profound folk customs and culture, these works are also a mirror reflecting the thriving modern life. 
     Moreover, the 3rd Henan Photograph “Golden Road Award” Exhibition was launched at the same time. The Golden Road Award is the top award of Henan Provincial Art Photograph Association. Every picture is of distinctive beauty through the lens of photographers: the “Horses on Snowfield” yelling to the sky, the harmonious Yin-Yang theory of “Tai Chi”, the remoteness and profoundness of “The Great Wall in Darkness” and the freedom and ebullience of “Dancers”.
