Activity Reservation | Opinions on Exploring Intangible Cultural Heritage after Traveling to over 130 Countries

At 10:00 on March 11 (Saturday), Chen Xuerong, President of the Shanghai Eon Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation (Eon Foundation), will share with you his experience in exploring and practicing traditional handicraft intangible cultural heritage in the past years, in combination with his previous views developed by visiting global cultural heritage sites.

Born in Changsha, Hunan Province in 1957, Mr. Chen is a Finance professor, doctoral supervisor, one of the senior founders of China's securities institutions, and the founder of the first Sino-foreign joint venture securities company after China entered the WTO.

In 1991, transferring his focus from university to the business circle, Mr. Chen entered China's capital market. Mr. Chen served as Vice President of the Securities Association of China, Expert Member of the Public Offering Review Committee of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Expert Member of the China Accounting Standards Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Vice Director of the China Association for Public Companies, and Expert Member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities Association of China.

He established the Lidao Museum of Securities in Shanghai (predecessor of the China Securities Museum) and Mrgadava the Private Museum of Carved Stone Arts in Chengdu.

He has been to over 130 countries around the world to visit world cultural and natural heritage sites.

Based on the principle of paying attention to basic logic and detailed matters and acquiring knowledge from practice, Mr. Chen will be committed to doing things that he enjoys and within his ability, carrying forward the excellent cultural heritage of mankind, and creating significant values for the society for the rest of his life.

In 2021, Eon Foundation was rated as a 3A-level social organization in Shanghai.
