Enjoyland Animal Kingdom Welcomes “White Tiger Sextuplets” to Meet Visitors at Month End

Recently, the hero white tiger mother “Jing Jing” at Zhengzhou Enjoyland Animal Kingdom (hereinafter referred to as the “Enjoyland”) in Henan successfully gave birth to six white tiger cubs—two male tigers and four female tigers. Currently, they are receiving meticulous care at the Conservation Center of the Enjoyland.

The white tiger belongs to the Bengal tiger species and is completely white with brown stripes. It is a national first-class key protected animal in China and usually gives birth to only one to four cubs at a time. This is the first successful breeding of six white tiger cubs at the Enjoyland, which is very rare in China.

During the spring season when there is a large temperature difference between day and night, Enjoyland has placed six newborn white tiger cubs in a temperature-controlled incubator set at 23-26℃ to ensure their healthy growth. Professional caretakers are on duty 24 hours a day to feed them every three hours, mimic the behavior of the mother tiger by licking and cleaning their bodies, and massage their stomachs to stimulate bowel movements.

“They’re like our own children, and our caretakers have to wake up 4-5 times every night not only to feed them but also to make sure they’re in good condition before feeling at ease. Around 40 days later, we even add some crushed meat based on their individual developmental needs to help them grow stronger,” Xu Fu said. “The mother of the sextuplets, ‘Jing Jing’, is a heroic white tiger who has given birth to a total of 12 cubs across three litters. We have professional keepers responsible for her postpartum care and they will prepare nutritious meals and help her recover quickly.”

The sextuplets now are doing great physically and are growing strong. They’re set to make their debut at the Enjoyland by the end of April.
