Yang’s Qingfang Hand-Pulled Noodles with Beef

Yang’s Qingfang Hand-Pulled Noodles with Beef, a famous Chinese dish, is a typical local dish on the Central Plains started by a couple, Yang Qing’en and his wife Ma Mingfang.
Hand-Pulled Noodles with Beef originated in Lanzhou. In 1982, Yang Qing’en and his wife Ma Mingfang brought it to the Central Plains and made innovations that fit it into the regional diet. Featuring a “golden color”, “mushy meat in thick soup”, and “unusual toughness”, it is fatty but not greasy and hence enjoys great popularity. The brand Yang’s Qingfang Hand-Pulled Noodles with Beef, a unique famous dish that has dominated the Central Plains for two decades, is derived from, among others, two characters—“Qing” and “Fang”— in the names of the couple. It won the “Famous Restaurant on the Central Plains”, “One of Henan’s Eight Delicacies”, and “One of Zhengzhou’s Ten Major Delicacies” honors. In 2,000, the Chinese Cuisine Association staged the nationwide "Famous Chinese Dishes” competition. Yang’s Qingfang Hand-Pulled Noodles with Beef was the only brand to win this honor. After tasting it, former President of Chinese Islamic Association, Mr. Shen Xiaxi, joyfully wrote this dedication, "Yang’s Qingfang Hand-Pulled Noodles with Beef—a distinctive delicacy on the Central Plains".
