On the evening of September 21, the 7^th Chinese Poetry Festival co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, China Writers Association and People’s Government of Henan Province officially kicked off at the Grand Theater of Henan Art Center.

An art performance was held on the opening night. Mainly supported by the local art troupes and colleges in Henan Province, this performance was also enriched by outstanding performers from the art troupes directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China. Literary and art workers from Beijing, Zhengzhou and other cities jointly showcased more than 10 excellent programs with rich contents, novel forms and unique features.

The art performance of the opening ceremony consisted of four chapters: poem origin, poetry memory, poem soul and poem eulogy. It was highly integrated with various artistic forms such as recitation, dance, martial arts, opera, folk arts and songs, which was brilliant and colorful. “Poetry origin” was intended to pay tribute to the classic essence of China. A melody titled “Grand Ceremony of the Poetry Nation” resonated with whispers and resounded with praise, rooted in the soul while embodying the profound history and enduring legacy of Chinese culture.

During the festival, a poetry-themed seminar, poetry collection and creation, mass poetry activity, poetry-themed play exhibition and performance were also held and poetry-themed quality tourism routes were released. During the same period, Henan carried out provincial poetry activities such as the Chinese Classic Poetry Forum.

The closing ceremony and art performance of this year’s Chinese Poetry Festival were held in the “Unique Henan·Fantastic Theater City” Theme Park, Zhengzhou on September 27.
