On September 14, the opening ceremony of “Travel in Henan · Understand China” — Media Tour along the Yellow River was held at the Shang Dynasty Ruins Museum in Zhengzhou.

Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan, is a key landmark city of Yellow River culture. In recent years, focused on creating the main tourism brand of “Travel in Henan · Understand China,” Zhengzhou has deeply implemented strategic action for the integrated development of culture, tourism, and creative industries. The city has delved into the timeless value and connotations of Yellow River culture and has successfully organized the Yellow River Culture Month activity for three consecutive years, fully establishing the cultural identity of “Kung Fu Zhengzhou, Centre of Heaven and Earth, Cradle of Chinese civilization.”

The aim of organizing the “Travel in Henan · Understand China” Media Tour along the Yellow River and the 2023 Yellow River Culture Month in Zhengzhou, is to deeply explore the value of the times embodied in the Yellow River culture, tell the “Yellow River Story” in the new era, and let the world further learn about Zhengzhou, recognize Henan, and understand China through the Yellow River culture.

The activity has invited central media such as People’s Daily, People’s Daily Overseas Edition, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily, Science and Technology Daily, China News Service, Workers’ Daily, Farmers’ Daily, People.cn, Global Times, National Humanity History Magazine, and Huanqiu.com, among others. Foreign media from countries such as the United States, Italy, New Zealand, Russia, Argentina, Hungary, Spain, and Azerbaijan and provincial and city news media in China also attended.

Klupp Jr John Gardner, a journalist from New Zealand’s KORDIA TV and a fan of Chinese culture, told reporters that he was familiar with the name of the city of Zhengzhou, because he often passed by this place when taking the high-speed train in China.
