Zhengzhou Poised to Stage the Grand Temple Fair

The coming Spring Festival of 2018 is around the corner! In Zhengzhou Greenery Theme Park, the here-and-now hustle and bustle is ubiquitous. It is known that the park is proactively preparing for the 2018 Grand Temple Fair of the Central Plains while giving full play to its strengths in light of “early planning, early action”. The preparations for a variety of park-wide activities are in full swing. It is expected that a kaleidoscope of folk cultures and traditional cultures will be displayed here by then.

According to one of the park’s staff, the 2018 Grand Temple Fair will be held from February 16th to March 4th (in the early 17 days of the first month in the lunar calendar). Swarmed with visitors, the temple fair is going to present a feast combining local customs, food and entertainments, featuring distinctive characteristics and sparkling highlights.

Temple fairs, also known as “Miaoshi” or Jiechang”, served as Chinese religious gatherings for the worship of the Chinese gods and immortals in old days. With the growth of economy and an increasing demand of exchanges, trades and recreations phased in. Thus, visiting temple fairs has become a routine for people celebrating the coming year. It is said that the 2018 Grand Temple Fair of the Central Plains in the park has designed different local activities in accordance with five themes including appreciating folk arts, promoting national treasures, expanding the horizon, offering wonderful shows and delivering great joy. Magnificent activities and unceasing performances are intended to inherit the traditional culture, fascinating people with folk arts at their doorstep.

Apart from the Grand Temple Fair, the Lantern Show of the Central Plains and the Indoor Lily Exhibition for Celebrating the Spring Festival have entered into the intense preparatory phase. The Lantern Show will be on from February 2nd (the 25th day of the 12th month in the lunar calendar) to March 11th (the 24th day of the first month in the lunar calendar) and the Lily Exhibition from February 16th to March 4th (the early 17 days of the first month in the lunar calendar).
