Direct Bullet Trains from Zhengzhou to Hong Kong Resume Operation from April 1

On March 23, the reporter found from the “Railway 12306” APP that the high-speed train tickets from Zhengzhou East Railway Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station were already available. The earliest departure date is April 1, and all tickets to the earliest Train G79 on that day had been sold out.

The system shows that two Fuxing bullet trains run directly from Zhengzhou to Hong Kong, namely G79 departing from Beijing West Station and G305 departing from Tianjin West Station. It takes at least 6h plus 10min from Zhengzhou to Hong Kong.

The reporter also found that through bullet train tickets from Zhengzhou to Hong Kong sold very well-- all the tickets available for pre-sale for April 2 to 5 had been sold out.

According to China Railway, in order to further meet the travel needs between the mainland and Hong Kong, the long-distance service of the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway will be fully resumed from April 1. Then, 66 stations across the mainland will directly deliver passengers to Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station.

The railway system will gradually add 40 cross-border bullet trains between West Kowloon Station of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway and stations inside Guangdong Province, and 22 long-distance cross-border bullet trains between West Kowloon Station and stations outside Guangdong Province.

Then, the number of daily operated cross-border trains of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway will increase from 102 to 164, of which 66 stations will be directly connected to West Kowloon Station, almost restoring to the capacity of 2019.

Next, the mainland railway authority will continue to strengthen communication and consultation with the Hong Kong railway authority, to optimize and adjust the operation plan of cross-border bullet trains in due course according to the actual passenger flow, so as to better facilitate the travel of passengers between the two places.
