On September 13, the “Let’s Dance! Showcase of the 2023 National Square Dance Convention Henan-Zhengzhou Subregion” event officially kicked off in Yinji International Tourism Resort, Xinmi City, Zhengzhou. That evening, 19 teams from six provinces (and autonomous regions) including Henan, Anhui, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and others, gathered for the “Dance Night”, putting on a dynamic, aesthetically pleasing dance feast.

The exhibition event was jointly organized by the Department of Public Service and the National Public Cultural Development Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and was hosted by the Culture and Tourism Department of Henan Province and Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government. The theme of the 2023 National Square Dance Convention is “Leading the New Trend, Celebrating the New Era.” It started in June of this year in Beijing. The convention is divided into six subregions, including Weihai, Shandong Province; Datong, Shanxi Province; Chenzhou, Hunan Province; Binhai New Area, Tianjin; Zhengzhou, Henan Province; and Deyang, Sichuan Province. Zhengzhou, as one of the six major subregions nationwide, is tasked with organizing and hosting a subregional square dance convention. It is reported that the “Dance Night” will be held in Guiyang, Guizhou Province in late October this year.
