Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism have held working meetings before and during the holiday to arrange work concerning the pandemic prevention and control, market supply, scenic area opening, safe production, civilized tourism and information report. It has sent 16 supervision groups to various development zones and counties/cities for supervision during the holiday.

Zhengzhou Cultural Market Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Branch insisted on inspecting the cultural and tourism markets.

The culture, radio, TV and tourism departments at city and county levels gave full play to the advantage of the digital scenic area supervision and service system "city brain and smart cultural tourism" to conduct real-time monitoring on the number of tourists, tourist flow and degree of crowding in 22 key scenic areas. They conducted scientific and reasonable tourist diversion through tourist flow prediction and real-time crowding index, which improved the satisfaction of tourists who visited Zhengzhou. All scenic areas in Zhengzhou strictly followed the prevention and control requirements of fine booking, time-phased regulation, off-peak guidance and scientific operation.
Domestic circulation drives the rapid recovery of cultural tourism consumption

The success of the 2020 China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival further increased domestic tourists' attention to Zhengzhou and drove the recovery of its cultural tourism market during the holiday.

In recent months, Zhengzhou has focused on normalizing pandemic prevention and control and boosting cultural tourism consumption. It gave priority to promoting cultural tourism consumption in ensuring stability on six fronts — employment, the financial sector, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and expectations — and maintaining security in six areas including job security, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy, stable industrial and supply chains and the normal functioning of primary-level governments. It also carried out a series of activities of providing policies, services and elements and enhancing confidence to fight against the pandemic and promote prosperity so as to ensure rapid recovery of cultural tourism consumption.

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and Zhengzhou East Railway Station ranked among the top ten airports and railway stations with the largest passenger flow in China respectively on October 1. During the extended holiday of the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day, 19 key scenic areas in the city received a total of 1.62 million tourists, with ticket revenues of RMB 126.611 million. The revenues of scenic areas have recovered to more than 70% of the same period last year. They earned the favor of tourists and effectively drove the cultural tourism consumption. Among them, Xinmi Enjoyland International Resort yielded tourism revenues of more than RMB 67 million, ranking first among all scenic areas in Zhengzhou.

According to information released by online travel platforms such as LY.com and eLong, Zhengzhou boasted the fastest growth rate in hotel bookings during the holiday, with a year-on-year increase of more than 100%. During the holiday, the average occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in the city is about 87%, higher than that of the same period last year. The restaurant catering consumption, especially that of the wedding banquet and family banquet, began to recover.

The Henan Museum reopened after five years and ZMJ 1958 took shape, both of which became hot spots favored by tourists. The most popular activities among tourists include the cultural tour represented by Shaolin Temple, the homestay tour represented by Dengfeng Chanxinju and Gongyi Xiaoyaogu, mountain-climbing activities such as Songshan Mountain and Fuxi Mountain, park-visiting activities such as Zhengzhou Greenery Theme Park and Zhengzhou Botanical Garden, the Yellow River tour represented by Zhengzhou Yellow River Culture Park, and the shopping tour represented by Dennis David Plaza and Zhenghong City.

Themed on "Love for the Yellow River and Motherland", the 2020 Zhengzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Fair, hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhengzhou Municipal Committee, Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism and Zhengzhou Gardens Bureau and organized by Zhengzhou Cultural Center and Zhengzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, promoted the intangible cultural heritage among people.

In addition to a few provinces at risk for COVID-19, most provinces in China have lifted restrictions on inter-provincial tourism. The proportion of tourists visiting Zhengzhou from other provinces reached 13.7%, an increase of 5.5% than May Day.

Among tourists from other provinces, 73.2% chose to travel with friends and relatives; 20.7% joined travel agencies; and 6.1% were on the tour organized by working units. Civilized tourism has become a new trend

Before the festivals, Zhengzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism issued a notice to require administrative departments of culture, radio, TV and tourism at all levels and relevant operating departments to maintain the achievements of building a national civilized city and vigorously advocate civilized tourism.

Various development zones and counties/cities organized volunteers to take active action in advocating civilized tourism, guiding tourists to abide by the pandemic prevention request, safety warnings and civilized tourism rules in their tourism activities, and in carrying on civilized guidance and persuasion.

The scenic areas set up volunteer service stations, provided supplies for pandemic prevention and first aid and designated volunteers for special guidance. Many scenic areas such as Shaolin Temple, Enjoyland International Resort, Film Town, Dengfeng Songyang Academy Scenic Area, Kang Baiwan's Mansion and Gongyi Changshou Mountain Scenic Area set up civilized tourism bulletin boards and electronic screens at tourist service centers and entrances. They also arranged one-meter lines at ticket windows and entrances, posted civilized tourism publicity advertisements along the route and played the radio of civilization tips.

The scenic areas made full use of intelligent means to conduct real-time security monitoring while controlling tourist flow so as to achieve early prediction, early discovery and early disposal. Travel agencies strictly examined the qualifications of chartered buses and drivers, signed standardized rental agreements, strengthened safety education of tour guides, guided tourists to conduct civilized and safe tourism, and reminded tourists to abide by the rules of civilized dining such as refusing the consumption of wild animals and joining the Clean Your Plate Campaign.

No major tourism complaints and safety accidents occurred in the tourism market of Zhengzhou during the National Day holiday.
